St Matthew's Poonindie

The congregation at St Matthew's normally meet on Sundays at 5pm once a month for a service of Holy Communion.

The Poonindie Aboriginal Community was an innovative community set up by Archdeacon (later Bishop) Matthew Hale in the 1840's. On the Anglican Church site there are remains of buildings and extensive signage detailing the history and story of the community.
